Little rose, Rekha Samanmmale  blossomed  into the silver screen in 1989, with teledrama âGolu Hadawathaâ  under  the expert eyes/ guidance of Sir Lester James Peiris. Ever  since, she found  invitations flowing in for teledramas but she had to  contain herself only to  the teledrama âNawalowaka Arunaluâ and over 50    newspaper and TV commercials, including âKnor Soupâ, Surf Execelâ,   âNestamaltâ, âHorliks Biscuitsâ âHNBâ and âMaliban Biscuit t and âOleâ  to name  a few. During this period she was employed in a private sector  Organization as  an Assistant Accountant.
Having left the job, she started  her  second lease of life through Sanjaya Leelaratneâs âTharukaâ  and she has  never looked back ever since  featuring in teledramas âPipi Piumâ,  âAdarayata Wesbenbdaâ âDu Kumariyo  (already screened) and âHansa  Geethyaâ and  âPeradiga Ahasaâ  (yet to be screened). However, the role  she  became  a âhitâ was her outstanding  performance as âMadhaviâ in  âBattiâ which became a household name  overnight.  
In recent times, Rekha played a  role in  famous stage drama â Trojen Womenâ, directed by Dharmasiri   Bandaranayake.
Currently, she runs her own  salon, âSalon  Rekhaâ in Kelaniya her main ambition is to do characters with  substance  under the leadership of reputed directors.
